Alien Invader Alert

The USDA and the US Forest Service (and others) are trying to raise awareness about the invasive Spotted Lanternfly.  A global hitchhiker from Asia, this species is wrecking havoc on our native northeast US ecosystem, in part because there aren't any natural predators.

New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware government agencies are trying to engage the public to limit the spread of these nasty critters.  It hasn't made it to my area yet.  Fingers crossed it doesn't. But I'm still doing my part and spreading the word.

This is for real.
