SAQA Video Conference

On Monday night, we had our first New York regional video conference.  It was great!  Four SAQA members from New York whose quilts were juried into the recent Quilts=Art=Quilts exhibition at Schweinfurth talked about their work.  We had an interesting conversation amongst our members about several topics including

* why is fiber medium harder to accept if it's not framed?
* how might the public be educated about the unique nature of fiber work?
* why is there such pricing disparity amongst artists working in this medium?
* how do we encourage artists not to undervalue their work?

Unfortunately, we weren't able to record the meeting; I think it would have been good to share with others to get their input..  That said, I can share the fabulous work by these artists which was juried into Q=A=Q.  I find it interesting that all four artists create abstract work.
