Trying to clear my head

I took a walk this morning to clear my head -- because I'm catching a whooper of a cold and to help me solve a composition problem I'm having with my piece for the upcoming Fiber Art Northeast exhibit. My walk was only partially successful. I did forget about my cold as I took pictures, but my brain didn't do any behind the scenes work to resolve my design issue. I think I'm just going to have to muddle through it by trial and error.

In the meantime, here are some pictures from today's amble. Yes, I love poppies while they bloom! And though it seems odd to take a picture of the leaves in spring, I just had to do it. I thought the colors of the Japanese maples leaves were just beautiful with the sun shining through.

These pictures are beautiful Vivien! Thank you for sharing them, there is something about the colors of 'nature' that are invigorating. Sorry about your cold... and your design problem... I know about that as well..
beautiful pix as usual! jealous your peonies are blooming already... now back to the studio you and figure it out!!! your brain was working on it even if it didn't seem that way.

Wish I could get poppies to grow here in Memphis, They are my favorite flowers, so papery and dancing. A great example of mother nature showing off how little things can be great. Just as those little things you observe so casually can solve big creative problems.

The poppies look like thy have beaded centers. Love that purple and orange combination. Gorgeous pictures!

Try the fizzy airborne (or generic version) tablets. They help you feel better. Love the poppies - so red!
