Word-y Wednesday

I happen to agree with John Steinbeck who wrote "I guess there are never enough books.... (Books are) one of the few authentic magics our species has created."

My bedside table is clear evidence that I am of one mind with him.

Don't look so shocked.  Didn't I confess last week that I'm obsessed with books and the written word?  And just so you know, all those books aren't mine.  I swap with a girlfriend and about half of these are hers.  Still, I suppose this could look bad...

Thank you, Vivien, I feel so much better about my own stack, after seeing yours. You win!

I'm bad too! I always have a stack of library books that get renewed to the max so I can finish them all! I try not to buy anything that will only be read once, so a lot of what I own is art & quilting, etc. Not that we have any empty shelf space....
BUT wait!!! you guys haven't seen the stack UNDER the table!!!! Vivien can we please have a picture of that one?

glad to see a bedside table that looks like mine!! I love Steinbeck--my grandmother knew him at the cannery row in monterey where she worked in the late 20s, and early 30s, my grandfather, a choctaw from the oklahoma rez, was one who came out to calif in that long line of poor people, but he is on dad's side, mamo who knew john s is on mom's side...they never had tv, and we read all the time. thanks
