Pumpkin Tendrils

I'm finally starting to resurface after several tough weeks with sick children. I'm hoping I'll get back into the studio and be able to show you some artwork soon. For now, I can just share a picture of the pumpkin I bought this weekend that has some wonderfully curly tendrils. We're getting ready for Halloween here, complete with a party for fifteen 10 year old girls. (I can't believe I said "yes" to that last point there. I welcome any and all suggestions on party games. No crafts allowed, according to my daughter a.k.a. the hostess.)

Musical chairs! And if you're really motivated, get a CD with spooky or Halloween themed music to play the game with.

Oh, you can also pair up the girls and have one wrap the other in toilet paper like a mummy. You can reward the teams for "fastest," neatest,"and "fanciest." Or just enjoy the craziness of lots of flying toilet paper.
and Kristin taught me another great party game, that no one could remember the name of... I think she called it "hit the bucket with the wooden spoon". put a treat under a bucket and have a blind folded player crawl around with the spoon looking for the bucket while everyone yells warm or cold...

Does pumpkin dressing come under craft? Choose small pumpkins and get lots of permanent markers and coloured cardboard. The girls could draw the faces. Have a variety of hats & scarves to 'dress the pumpkins'.

Get the Pennywhistle party book. It has lotsd of good ideas, including menus. My daughter's Bday is October 3 and we did several Halloween-type parties for her, with help from this book. She just turned 22 - when did THAT happen?
