Sunset

Hearing about the fires in LA recently had me remembering the fires that were burning nearby while we were on vacation in Carmel. The smoke changed the colors of the evening sky. It was bit eerie. On the one hand, the sunset was lovely; on the other hand, you felt a badly admiring sunset created by fires that were bad news for others. Certainly gave pause.....

Some years back here in Florida, we had one year of particularly terrible fires. The sky even rained down ash for days, like it would if there were a volcano. It was horrible. We still have a drought every year, and problems with fires, but it was just awful that year and the way it is in California right now. Terrible. I really empathize, and pray for the people in the area effected. I hope they are safe, and don't lose their homes. I hope the situation will improve quickly.
